I was raised as a Christian (mainline non-universalist Protestant). I believe there is a stable order to the world and I am only a small figure in a much bigger picture.

But, I cannot believe a Jewish space wizard created the world and then incarnated himself as his own son/but still him (?) who is now a zombie and rules over the world from his home in outer space.

So culturally I want to go to church but I have no desire to worship the Jewish space wizard or pray to him. And I am extremely reluctant to falsify these things to secure a mate. Ironically, my Judeo-Christian influence manifests as an aspergic obsession with truth which in turn prevents me from attending church.

Perhaps I should suck it up and go to some sort of post-theist church (eg universalist).

My perception is that these are quite leftist and I am unlikely to find it a good cultural fit, but I did attempt to attend a Baptist congregation awhile back and it couldn't be worse than that.
