They could easily repurpose the c&h books as “how to dad” and “how to kid” manuals. As a dad, I shamelessly took a lot of pointers from Calvin’s dad. Unfortunately, my offspring eventually gained access to these blueprints.

Sadly I'm not a father yet but I know I've had some of the most contemplative childhood and adult moments because of Calvin & Hobbes. The commentary on so many fronts speaks volumes to me about the almost socially-nihilistic yet beautiful landscape surrounding the world of C&H and ultimately, Watterson.
The fine line drawn between imagination and reality spoke so much to me as a child about how precious time is.
