Its does not work like irc does either, its the worst of both worlds.
If running my own relay then I control everything on said relay.
I don’t think spam is that big of an issue as anyone can be muted.
Nostr is an open protocol platform not a social media site.
Build whatever decentralized services on top of nostr.

Are there different apps for fedi?
Are there different clients you can use?
I didn’t know about fedi until I was using nostr (client used most, damus & nostrmo).
