#asknostr time.

So a little while back I thought I stumbled upon a lightning development tool that would spin up one or more test net lightning nodes. Is that still a thing or is that just a fever dream that I had?

Also, for those running a nostr relays, is there any harm in running two relays on the same server as long as the specs are decent enough?

So I'm still going to try this app but it looks like it's really only for doing basic lightning payment type things. Im more or less looking to test Underlying networks like Tor / I2P.

In theory it should be doable but I need to control network settings for each specific node. (Ie force ln to use a proxy) i found a tool called simnet that looks like it might do what I need..

Yea I think it would be possible. I think the best strategy would be to pick a lightning implementation and follow their readme to spin up local nodes and try to make your changes locally to change the way they talk to each other. I feel like this might be bolts 1/8? “This protocol assumes an underlying authenticated and ordered transport mechanism that takes care of framing individual messages.
