As the current Chairman of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell has not explicitly stated his opinion on whether Bitcoin should be regarded as a security or not. However, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which oversees issues of securities regulations in the United States including cryptocurrencies has stated that Bitcoin is not a security.
