The cost of opening a channel is in sats, not dollars. Mine cost about 16K sats. The size of my channel is 1,000,000 sats, but I only put up 100,000 sats for my side of the channel. The other side has put up 900,000 sats. There are those who understand the cost of this business and they charge accordingly.
