It's easy to just kill it right before you cook it, it's not like the 10 seconds before it hits the boiling water are going to mean anything.

But yeah I don't think I'm ever gonna eat shellfish or clams again.

Maybe, I think there ways to do it properly. Why not clams though?

Cus apparently they boil them alive too. I know they're not particularly sentient but I just hate the idea.

For some animals it does make a difference, they excrete chemicals that ruin the meat if you kill them.

Then don't eat them.
