Please avoid flying if possible. I used to be a pilot and the treatment of dogs is horrible! Dark noisy and freezing cold. It happens that dogs die of fear!
I tried boat. Did it that way to mallorca. Undortunately not possible here now.

We had a 12hrs flight with our dog years ago. I remember this: do not give any calming medicine. Lowers the heart rate, and combined with the cold in the place they stay can be fatal. Big blanket is advised and one backup for when you arrive ;).
