Hans-Hermann Hoppe‘s remarks on Javier Milei, an excerpt from the 18th Annual (2024) Meeting of the Property and Freedom Society.

Hans-Hermann Hoppe, finally someone who speaks my language!

That’s exactly, and I mean EXACTLY, what I think too about Milei. The Argentinians, like most of Milei's fans, are blind and can’t see the situation clearly. Hans-Hermann Hoppe calls things by their name! I really like the last part too, when he talks about Milei's geopolitical position, everything is perfectly analyzed and expressed.

Don't fall in love with politicians, they remain what they are. They are not an extension of you and never will be. Their primary focus is on power and control, and their agenda will never fully align with yours.

Friedrich Hayek told us what we need:

"We need intellectual leaders who are prepared to resist the blandishments of power and influence and who are willing to work for an ideal, however small may be the prospects of its early realization. They must be men who are willing to stick to principles and to fight for their full realization, however remote."

Politicians often find it hard to stick to their principles because they face pressure to win votes, deal with powerful interest groups, navigate complex issues, and worry about the consequences of taking a stand. Milei is no exception.
