Releasing ChatGPT 4o for free is a smart move for them. They get all the text, audio, media, digital and video data for free. Not to mention context and a ton of metadata to go with it - and practically the largest dataset on humanity.

This is a nightmare scenario for privacy and gives the company way too much power. It’s not clear to me how the open source models are going to catch up with a superior UX that sucks up all the data.

I'm staying away for exactly that reason. Maybe it doesn't matter in the scheme of things but I just don't want to be a part of it. Weirdly I don't want AI to make art for me, I'm quite capable of synthesizing creative ideas myself. For me it's not about speed or clout, it's about being lost in the creative process itself. I can do that without World Coin Man

I agree with everything, but the real-time language translator is something I have dreamt of since the days of Star Trek's Tricorder.

A metadata and personal information collection dream feature

Unfortunately

It doesn't really matter when stupidity of the general population reaches a critical point. That will teach the controllers to not mess with nature

Game it.
