One comment about wealth disparity. We often hear that we have more disparity now than during the French revolution. However, I don't know if disparity is enough to cause civil unrest. I think unrest comes when one group can't afford to eat. Most people aren't going to try and overthrow a government because someone else has a fancy yacht if they themselves are well fed. However, if the other group has food, and you do not, then we may have a problem. That's why we have social welfare. No matter how rich the politicians and cantillionnaires get, they keep the plebs quiet with enough bread to live on. As long as that system lasts, we probably won't have civil unrest in the west. have
