All these presidential race politicians leaning into bitcoin is screaming to me that they are trying to set the stage for pointing the finger at Bitcoiners for the collapse of fiat. Otherwise, it makes no sense. There aren't enough Bitcoiners to move the needle in an election. We don't matter ultimately. Why all this attention suddenly. Red flags.

they are going to need it "in the system" otherwise they won't be able to keep it going

But but but Blackrock 🥴🤧

They're screwed

There are sources that say over 20% of Americans own Bitcoin. Even if it was 5% of adults that’s 13 million people who own Bitcoin and have skin in the game. Or just under 10% of the total voters in the 2020 election. That’s a huge number. Ripe for pandering.

There are only tens of thousands of people who actually participate in Bitcoin in USA in my opinion. Irrelevant voter base.

That’s your guess and you have absolutely nothing to back it up. You’re likely off by three orders of magnitude.

If you go to conferences or Bitcoin meetups you'll realize that the number of people who actually participate, who actually manifest Bitcoin is incredibly small. Everyone else is just larping.

Manifest Bitcoin? What does that even mean 😂

In my life I personally know 10 people who own Bitcoin (4 of them self custody). Everyone who owns Bitcoin or paper Bitcoin has potential to be swayed by politicians pandering to them. I think that’s what you’re not understanding.

Many millions of US voting age people have some exposure to Bitcoin. It doesn’t matter if they’re larping, they still want to make money. Politicians have realized this and are using the right words to sway them. It’s not rocket science. Just politics. I remain unaffected.

Permanent money; permanent culture.

If you only know 10 people who own Bitcoin, doesn't this disprove anecdotally for you that 20 percent of Americans own Bitcoin? Those numbers are bullshit.

I watched a street performer a couple days ago and at the end when he did the usual spiel asking for donations I was pleasantly surprised he accepted bitcoin (bitcoin specifically, not crypto). Of course he got some sats from me. I know it's just one little anecdote but it gives me hope that adoption is slowly happening.

Adoption is definitely happening. When I got into Bitcoin in 2019 I knew zero people who knew about Bitcoin. Now I know 10. So much has changed in those 5 years. The next 5 I think will be more substantial for adoption, probably by a large margin.

That's a Bitcoiner right there

Ten people is a lot of people in a small circle. I’d say I maybe know 50 people total that I talk to on a semi-regular basis. So 10/50 = .2 aka 20% 😂😂

I wouldn’t guess 20% of Americans own Bitcoin personally but 5% is probably the lower bound. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was more though.

10k is a terrible and demonstrably poor guess though. Three orders of magnitude off.

You’re not addressing the reality that it doesn’t matter if someone has a .01 Bitcoin balance in their cash app, the politicians play a numbers game. There are millions of those cashapp guys out there and the politicians want to promise them bullshit to get their votes. This is so simple not sure why you’re having such a hard time.

In my opinion, someone who just owns Bitcoin isn't a bitcoiner. There are less than 100k Bitcoiners in the USA, by my anecdotal experience.

I saw that troy cross survey that suggested that all kinds of people own Bitcoin but I think if he surveyed those participating in the culture of Bitcoin then he would find much more narrow results.

However, I do agree that more people are aware of Bitcoin and have Bitcoin than ever. I give tours of my homestead in which I talk a lot about Bitcoin, and in the past most people had no clue about Bitcoin. If they knew about Bitcoin all they knew was fud. Now, most people know about Bitcoin and have some or had some at one point. They still have no idea what to do with it or how to use it. They just hold on the exchange and are waiting to "take profits".

How many nodes are there?

90% of voters are already decided between democratX vs repuplicanX. Swing vote is only 10%. Insuspect Bitcoiners represent a higher proportion of the non-predetermined voters. So just voting numbers wise bitcoiners have an outsized impact.

But its not about the vote numbers anyways. Bitcoiners have fat bags. 🥜 💼

Money talks.

Bitcoiners don't vote. Bitcoiners build the new system.

voting is gay but there are plenty of gay bitcoiners.

im not saying that these asshole politicians are goin to fix any problem, i am only saying that they don’t have an ulterior motive to pander. this is not some 4d chess they are playing so they can blame bitcoin for fiat collapse.

Can do both tbh

Bitcoin is cool again.

🤔 either way the next president needs a fix for the debt and the FED it’s fantastic #Bitcoin is on the radar

There is no fix just blame.

You don't need to be a hardened node running Bitcoiner for Bitcoin to affect your vote. Most people I know have Bitcoin on a crypto exchange. If the government were to ban it and the value went down, they would be pissed enough for it to swing their vote.
