Where is the best place to read about it? I hardly understand lightning. How is it better than a non custodial wallet like Phoenix wallet?

It's not a replacement for noncustodial wallets. Keep using them.

Cashu is a way to blind custodians so that they don't know anything about your financial activity.

Could you use cashu on an Internet forum, where users pay each other for information they provide?

If the ecash is sent to someone outside the forum to redeem it they would need to visit the forum?

Is that the gist of how it could work?
