Yes, I agree.
Since distancing from political parties I definitely watch it all with more amusement, but also with a pretty cynical eye ("how will this be used to gain more power?")

well that, my friend, is a root outlook shift which i dont think is going anywhere. We got lazy as a culture and got to drink from the “wake up” firehose the last few years. Huge portions of my worldview at least got completely reworked. I’m unlikely to trust a government bureaucracy for the rest of my time here.
