I’m writing something for work and it fills me with so much hope and joy to be able to write, “I believe that the future of survivors sharing their stories online globally will be on completely censorship resistant and decentralized protocols.”

There are a lot of valid conversations happening around the abuse that survivors face online but there is very little conversation about how powerful and impactful it has been for survivors to share their stories online. It brings my heart joy that survivors can come to #Nostr and share their stories and not be censored by the state, the corporate press, tech companies or anyone in a position of power wishing to silence their voice.

The survivors in China who put their stories on the blockchain during #MeToo after being silenced at the hands of the state are not only brave but they are trailblazers.

*Sorry I know that folks probably don’t want to hear much about that topic right now because the world in such a heartbreaking place but you could replace the word “survivor” with political dissidents, journalists, freedom fighters, human rights activists, whistleblowers or peacemakers and it still works.*

It's endearing to be apart of a tool, such as Nostr, that can have such a profound impact on the world.
