Anyone who wants to "get back to the constitution and restore states rights" should know that the constitution replaced an earlier federal government charter called the articles of confederation.

The articles of confederation created a much smaller federal government with many more limits. The entire purpose of replacing the articles of conferation with the constitution was to centralize power into the federal government taking more power away from the states.

Indeed. These people (I used to be one of them) usually beleive the Constitution was written to limit the Federal government. If you believe that you should also believe it failed. We have the largest government ever created. The most powerful the world has ever seen. If this is the result the what other conclusion can you have than it failed.

The conditions under which the Constitution was born and sold was as suspect as 9/11. The only actual thing good about it is the bill of rights which was added as a concession to get it ratified
