I think I didn’t see a new DM because it was in the requests tab and not the messages tab, and I forgot to check it.

I also got a notification for a new DM today but I think it might be a month old, because I haven’t gotten any new DMs from that user in weeks. But my conversation with them started way before notifications on damus was a thing

The request tab is problematic too, although I’m not sure what a good solution is either since DM spam will be a thing eventually. I always miss messages in there.

Yeah I think it will be very useful to keep requests separate. I have already gotten 1-2 spam DMs.

The reason for posting about this stuff today was just to see if others were having similar experiences, so thank you for sharing! I’m sure new versions of clients will find clever ways to address these issues.
