Keep a list of people who defend technology that clearly should be doubted. They may be simpletons, or they may be agents. Update your trust matrix accordingly.

When the Nord Stream was bombed, I noticed who was countenancing the idea that maybe Russia did it. No matter how innocent and normal they seemed to be previously, all those influencers are very suss to me now, because only a total idiot or an agent of disinformation could have thought such a thing. That included (for your edification) Anders Puck Nielsen and Mallen Baker. I may still listen to them, they seem moderate and not clearly in one camp or another, but that one event put big red flags on them. Not every agent of disinformation is as obvious, blantent and one-sided as Ben Shapiro. Some are subtle tricksters.

Some people are so awed by the technical depth of security (e.g. double-ratchet) that they think this means the person is honest and trustworthy and further that they have the same security model that you do. I don't make that connection.

Because you constantly get it wrong. Even in this post. What direct ties to intelligence agencies, name them, provide evidence.
