Elon Musk is extremely self conscious and has an extremely fragile ego. He has proven it time and again. A couple recent examples:

2) Reacting with hostility toward #Bitcoin and Bitcoiners when they corrected him about some of his obvious misconceptions and then embracing $DOGE because the community licked his boots.
