I'm trying to improve my spam filtering. I realized that freelay.sovbit.host was being too aggressive and that my existing spam filter would start blocking people (including myself) if it ran for too long. Going to be experimenting here a bit and watching logs for a while.
Ill make a longer post and post the spam filter (its just a stir fry plugin) after I get some more data and do some more tweaking.
We just gotta get these no-work plebs to start adding PoW to their notes. Spam problem solved
Proof of work isn't really a good solution. Any dedicated spammer with a few GPUs can pump out proof of work notes pretty quickly.
Of course, but it imposes a cost. It is the only system that imposes a cost that isn't tied to identity or centralization in any way. PoW has made L1 almost completely devoid of spam, it works.
