that is precisely the thing everyone forgets about when they talk about self hosting - the cost of owning yet another piece of running software that needs to be updated, backed up, will die when you the least can afford to fix it etc.
Then you go on vacation and your Internet goes down and can't remote in 💀
every time i'm away for couple months I find a new thing I didnt account for in my home setup 😅
that is the woooorst!!
then the texts:
"hey did you know your site is down?"
"hey sites not working"
"can't get into your site"
then your mom calls: "I don't see that picture of your dad on the interwebs anymore"
