About 7% of the US population serves in the military at sometime during their life if you had in participants in the civil air patrol, the Coast Guard and the National Guard, those numbers actually increase significantly.

That said the future of warfare will be a very very small number of technologists. War will become completely mechanized and the bottom line is that you’ll have to accept it or be ruled by a country that chooses to go that route. you can’t stop it .
