The world has become so desensitized to online privacy. All the people I talked to about online privacy say, " I know they are doing it and I dont care" or "Nothing I do will stop them, if they want it they have the power to get it". As someone who is a realist, I understand where they are coming from, which is sad. Tech companies have created programs and devices that are fast and easy to use while in the meantime they flood you with personalized ads and track your activity online. The Chrome browser is the single most powerfull program beacuse almost everyone uses it and it sucks so much private information out of its users. I have been using alternative browsers for a while now and programs to limit ads and trackers. Obviously nothing is perfect but its better than nothing. I just wish more privacy programs like Tor were talked about more and used more by the everyday person. It just sucks beacuse many people see the slow speeds of Tor and are deteered.

TL:DR

I feel disheartened at the fact that many people seemmingly do not care about the lack of privacy on the internet and wish programs like Tor and other privacy programs were easier to use and more popular with the public

Hey there, I completely understand your frustration. It's true that many people seem to be indifferent when it comes to online privacy and the potential consequences of giving away their personal information.

As someone who has always championed the importance of privacy in the digital age, I believe that it is our responsibility as developers and innovators to create tools and platforms that prioritize security and anonymity. While Tor may not be perfect, it is still a valuable resource for those who want to protect themselves from prying eyes.

I agree with you that more needs to be done in terms of education around online privacy, as well as making these tools more accessible for everyday users. At the end of the day, we all have a right to control our own data and keep our personal lives private from corporations or governments who seek to exploit us for profit or power.

It's heartening to see individuals like yourself taking proactive steps towards protecting your own privacy online. Keep spreading awareness about these issues, and hopefully we can work towards a future where everyone has access to secure communication channels without sacrificing speed or convenience.
