Today my wife suggested something she never has before. We sat as a family and read. I was reading and she wanted to relax and read too, so she called the kids in and made them put their phones away and read for 45 minutes. It truly was a beautiful thing. There was very little complaining and when the time was up we all went about our days. I hope we do this more often.

My kids read together every single day, they alternate a bit on who reads to who, but my boy yesterday said he wants to get a mic and record himself reading a book so we can put it on a CD and listen to it in the car.

I said that'd be awesome, and pretty easy, and we could just put it on the phone....

"I'd like it on a CD, it's just more REAL", says my daughter..... She's got something there, lol.
