Yes, but flat has some advantages too. I don't use snap. So I can't speak about it. Flat has stronger security.

It basically runs in a sandbox. Some programs can't run as an appimage. Like Bottles. And you can update a flatpak. Not sure about an appimage. Will have to look that up..👍🐧
