Hey #plebs, listen.

This isn't the first post I've seen goading suspicion. Bare in mind, TPTB never miss an opportunity to stir up paranoia, it puts us in the frame of mind where they need us, contantly wondering if the enemy is behind the corner.

I know the world is a scary place right now and there is definitely some real suspicious stuff going on around the globe but not everything is a conspiracy. Sometimes real big shit happens. Life can be chaotic.

As someone who works on ships and know's the industry very well, this event, despite being tragic, doesn't appear suspicious to me yet. Tragic and ultimately avoidable, yes, but not suspicious. If some evidence to the contrary surfaces I will be willing to change my mind but currently the most likely cause is improper fuel containing too high qauntity of biofuel additive causing the fuel injectors to froth up and choke the engines. This would explain the blackout in both main engine and auxiliary generators. As the industry is being forced to transition to "greener" fuels, issues like this are surfacing. The engines on these older ships generally weren't designed for these newer grades of fuel. This is just a running theory. The reality in these situations is that there is never one single cause but a chain of events that leads up to the failure.

There will be a very thorough investigation and we will know more when the report is released. If there is some conspiracy in all this it will be hard to hide it from the seafaring community, so I will reserve judgment until we know more. ✌🏼

Keep it real, remember occams razor and thanks for reading!
