Yes, Yes and Yes......the biggest one in 2025. In NZ you do not need to be a NZ citizen to vote, there is virtually no benefit to being a 'citizen'. That whole status is a complete illusion.
In the US a citizen of a state actually has full protection under the Constitution. A US citizen is a category created expressly for giving citizenship to freed slave. That isn't constitutional. That is a category almost exclusively protected by Congress. But since everyone kept saying "Us citizen" instead of "state citizen" we all basically convinced ourselves that they were synonymous, even though they're wildly different from one another. Including how each are taxed and what Id you need to drive.
