The whole mockery with the pagers exploding is just a small part that people do not want to see it.

Remember the always present pattern: problem - reaction - solution.

This was an orchestrated move towards even more restrictions for you, the normal guy.

Soon you will not be anymore allowed to carry with you a phone, laptop or any device with a battery. In planes, trains, busses etc.

They will come up with all kind of excuses and methods to restrict you and control your communications.

And Darth is calling it here so you will remember it.

You could be right. But then they gave up their surveillance tool we carry always around. Wouldn't that be a huge disadvantage?

Not really. You will be held anyways in a plane, train, bus where are anyways watched and controlled as they wish.

Maybe this is the next step in censoring and controlling the flow of information. But I still have doubts.

I hope you are wrong but this interpretation could be used against us.

I think this whole situation puts a giant spotlight on the necessity of verifiable supply chains and tamper-proof shipping.

Maybe even a step towards more DIY-comm systems

I see it from another perspective.

Build our own ways of transport and do not depend of centralized and controlled air traffic and trains.

Think about this:

It means that anytime you jump into a plane or train, you are signing a contract. Signing that contract, you must obey THEIR rules.

You are trapped.

So we need to exist the system and do not use their ways.

Became a sovereign individual and stop being a shitizens slave, step out of the system.

One of the less fun reasons why I've been traveling practically nonstop the past 7 years:

International movement is becoming a gradually-increasing pain in the ass due to bureaucratic restriction BS, so I want to make the most of it before things get so bad it's not even worth it anymore.

Going to fight like hell against these draconian developments of course—and will never stop as I dream of building a traveling family someday—but when life experiences are on the line, I'm hedging my bets now, not later.

Doubt they will ban devices on public transportation. How are they going to track us?

You are jumping into a plane, train. bus, where they have FULL control over you and they know who are you and where you go. They don't need so much that phone, they can say "ok we will keep it for you in a safe box and you will get back when you finish your travel"

But once you get off, they lose you.
