Still seeing people posting that Phoenix Wallet still works, in the US... seemingly ignoring the fact Phoenix explicitly told US "users" to empty their wallets.

They bounced willingly, just like WoS. They didn't even fight.

Why do some of you think what they said was code for "that only applies to app store downloads", but have they said that? Did I miss something?

If not, I would listen to them and empty your wallets like NOW.

WOS didn't need to fight. Fight what? The google play store?

Anyone can still download the APK or use an alternative app store.

For someone who promotes GrapheneOS, its quite shocking to see you make this kind of statement.

I do not see anything on the Acinq website about emptying your wallet if you are an american. For something that important, you would think it would be on their website.

oh the screenshot didnt come up when i first saw this note, I guess thats from twitter. or something.

I wonder why only users from the US need to empty their wallets?

Their servers werent seized compromising any metadata, and even if they were, wouldn't you warn all users not just american ones?

very strange indeed.

I guess nostr:npub16jknkmh2luflurx2epkj99qyj7v2ut3ew7t2mfd7xxt9jtjku2nsj2gqp0 has a point. If the service they offer is only geo restricted there's many workarounds.

Although I would suggest all these folks to simply run their own LN nodes instead.
