The 19th century had diff vibes globally - this one is on the Haymarket Massacre, Chicago, Illinois - on how the people fought against employers and police to demand for 8 hour work day from the usual 10 hrs or more. It took multiple riots, deaths, police brutality, many misleading media and many more years of fighting for it before May 1, 1890 officially became the International Labours Day.
(Anarchist who led the movement was also known as libertarian socialism, far left in the 1800s - the shift in libertarian was seen through the 20th century and more apparent post Nixon era)
