I’d be careful with taking a diagnosis too seriously. My opinion is that mental “illness” in particular is a spectrum present to some degree in everyone. It is the combination and interaction of these disorders that make us the unique people we are. Don’t get me wrong here, mental illness certainly can be debilitating and life threatening in some cases, but unless the anxiety and OCD are causing functional issues daily, it’s likely that the knowledge of it can help you to better understand and cope with the symptoms. I often just shrug and laugh a bit, yep I have to count all the screws in the frame around that door’s window. That’s just me and 10 million other OCD people!
