if communities rely on posts specifically to them then that is a really bad way to build them and nostr

nostr should be mostly regular notes ie kind 1 forming most content

then communities form as ways to curate that content, ie you have moderators aka curators and filters ie search terms, tags etc

this prevents anyone siloing the content and so the speech #nostr #asknostr

That's not how nostr communities work. Posts on communities are kind1 and show up in the general feed.

There's no siloing. Just aggregation and curation/moderation.

sorry i got the idea when you couldnt get posts submitted that they were siloed, so why cant you get posts? what is required? if i mention a keyword will your community get the post?

You're required to use a client that supports communities like amethyst, satellite.earth, nostr.kiwi and then post from that community.

so communities cant pickup content from notes not posted in it? seems siloed

You can repost other notes in a specific community, akin to crossposting or posting an hyperlink.

I've done so in the past to try to build some momentum.
