No it won't, because that niche is solved by bittorrent and you can't do better. Nostr devs are notorious for brushing away "complex" optimizations, so they won't even try to copy bittorrent's efficiency. But even if they do, it is merely reinventing an already very well oiled wheel.

Yeah it would use BitTorrent. I was just referring to the tracking software/index of files. The actual file transfer protocol would be BitTorrent since itās battle tested and works. Essentially a Nostr based tracker.
Pretty cool that this has been implemented now (nostrudel or dtan.xyz for example), although Iām pretty sure I was mistaking an indexer for a tracker. The next step is now for these sites to setup APIs to allow automated downloads from certain totally legitimate downloaders (for example people wanting to get the latest Linux os). Or better yet implement a nostr client directly in the automated downloaders.
