Appears these run close to 2k?! You must have had an expensive coffee habit if you meant literally paid for itself… which I guess just means buying espressos daily now that I think about it.

It was $1600 when I bought it, waited for a sale. But yeah I got to a point where the French press and the pour over just weren’t doing it for me. So I would get 1 or sometimes two americanos a day. Figured I’d just buy the nice machine and save myself the trouble.

I make iced americano’s everyday. But real strong, I mix the espresso 1:1 with water. Sometimes I’ll make a latte if I’m feeling fancy. The coffees I make are way better than any I get in shops. Well worth it to me. A lot of time and money saved and I like what I make more.

Nice.

I’m content with home made quality drip, so the math is a bit different for me. I will eventually want higher quality like what you’re describing though, so guess I’ll wait a bit more..
