Update on my mum:

My wife spoke to a doctor this morning to find out all the details. It turns out they were extremely worried about the sepsis and her heart getting infected, which fortunately was avoided.

I went in to visit this evening and she seemed better again. She had finally eaten a little, as her mouth is not quite as painful as it was. But she still wasn't able to talk much.

She was just coming to the end of a blood transfusion, and was very tired, so just stayed for about an hour.

This has been a lesson to her in why checking body temperature, and being honest about the results is so important.
