"holding your own keys is complicated"...
When are they going to stop peddling this nonsense?
Never, I guess.
“One of the things that made me a believer is that someone told me ‘I keep 50% of my savings in #Bitcoin because if I say the wrong thing in my country, I could have my assets confiscated’," says Franklin Templeton President and CEO Jenny Johnson https://video.nostr.build/f36d6f6e5b2d045cb43d2866f3fc694f3153097d8dd5de439fa0ee985fa191a7.mp4

Yeah mate. Keys are OG and one of Bitcoin's best features. I'll never adopt to seeds and hardware wallets and what not.
Do you mean literally the actual sec keys for each address?
Having one key exposed won't allow deriving next pubs and secs right?
I meant private keys and there is no "next keys". there is only used addresses and unused addresses in the wallet. unused ones aren't even known to the blockchain until they're being used so they do not matter.
Keys can be created offline. So they aren't known to the chain until they're being used hence I have no use for seeds to restor entire wallets if only 1-2 addresses are being used. Much more convenient to just import private keys to ANY wallet, do what I need to do and then just delete them again.
These people can't even manage their email and web passwords. Newer people will handle bitcoin keys just fine.
Unfortunately they really believe that is hard to do such a task
