The 3 things humans have been eating for as long as we've drank water or breathed air. (some debate around organs; I avoid them, other people include them)

Up until ~10K years ago, tiny amounts of berries and tubers were consumed, but only as a last resort starvation-prevention measure amidst long periods of failed hunts. Extensive fermentation processes were used, since in their pre-agricultural-revolution form, all plants were HIGHLY toxic, thus only used in emergencies.

MEAT & FAT are what we have evolved on, and the reason why we have such big brains and high intelligence as a species. People today who voluntarily choose to give up these foods and consume exclusively plants will always face the consequences sooner or later, whether that manifests as hormonal dysfunction, persistent difficulty maintaining healthy weight, acne/psoriasis, tooth decay, IBS, or even diabetes, as every plant breaks down into glucose in the body.

The ubiquitous "plants are good for you" messaging is simply another government scam, seeded by the sugar industry nearly a century ago.

No, we are tropical species originating from primates, all of which are at least omnivores, but the majority, vegans. Chimpanzees, our closest relatives, are 99% vegan and only eat meat once a year or less. Our diet is primarily based on fruits, roots, and seeds. We started eating meat, not without difficulties, when we left the tropics. And proof of this is that we need to cook it in order to digest it, and even then a large majority of meat is not digested. Not to mention that it causes cancer and severe deficiencies in various vitamins.

The reason our brain grew so large has nothing to do with eating meat, as there are carnivorous animal species that are quite stupid. The main reason is actually due to the fact that we had to understand the seasons, learn how plants grow and how to cultivate them, build shelters, walk long distances in search of food, and all of this required communication and organization among ourselves. Don't you believe me? The carnivorous regions, such as for example Mongolia or the Eskimos, have the lowest IQ in the world, while those based on agriculture have the highest.
