In 2005, a cat named Oscar was adopted by a nursing home to be a therapy cat. However, he displayed an unusual behavior: he would snuggle up to residents just hours before they passed away.

Initially, this was dismissed as coincidence, but after it happened 20 times, the staff began to believe that Oscar could sense when someone was about to die.

They would then alert the residents' loved ones so they could come and say goodbye.

On one occasion, Oscar chose to sit with a seemingly healthier resident instead of the a resident that staff expected to die first, and that resident passed away before the other. Oscar died in 2022, having accurately predicted over 100 deaths.
