GrapheneOS isn't about privacy. They force users to use their garden. You must depend on their servers if you want to have working device.

Using GOS has security issues. Your traffic to GOS severs can be monitored and you can be easly fingerprinted.

They don't warn people about it.

They encourage to use Google services as well.

If you want a solution more privacy oriented try Divest OS. This OS isn't ideal but much better when it comes to privacy.
