My sister showed me an app today called "too good to go". It's basically an app where bakeries, restaurants and other venues let you register to pick up bags of today's food for almost nothing before the have to throw it away. She picked up a huge bag from a local bakery yesterday filled with bread, brezen, croissants and other stuff for just 4€ and put it into her freezer.

Very cool!! Not sure if this is a thing outside of Germany.

Used it in the past. Really good prices and the idea of surprise is way too good ☺️☺️☺️

I loved lucky bags as a kid already and downloaded the app 😉

Suddenly no sales after 2 pm, you say? Why not? 🤔

Doesn't work like that. Those bags are kinda limited but I know what you're saying. I like the idea though because if we're honest too much food is being thrown away every day. They also give it to social institutions for free of course.

Just thinking through the unintended consequences and incentives that would be created. I used to work at a church and once a week we'd get garbage bags full of breads and pastries from the local Panera.

Agreed but I also think it's putting food on people's tables you can't keep up any more with the seemingly never ending increasing cost of living. I've been here a month now and products cost more every other day. It's getting stupid and I think more people could make good use of this app right now. At the same time we'd reduce food waste of perfectly fine products.
