There was lots of moose drama along the Iditarod trail last night. Dallas Seavey's team got entangled with a moose on a downhill stretch outside of Skwentna. He had to shoot it in self defense. That resulted in an unanticipated delay while he gutted the moose, as per the race rules. The carcass ended up in the middle of the trail on a blind corner. Several teams reported that they ran it over. In an unrelated event, musher Jessie Holmes punched a moose in the nose.
