nostr:npub1ftj3tmr44tdzs93e0hdgfnrrct9pu2e8haylzuatm2tkfwdaudds27pjju, since you seem to be active on both Nostr and Stacker News, how would you characterize the differences between their respective communities?
Discussion
Stacker News, owing to its Hacker News and (somewhat) Reddit inspiration, is far more community-centric despite Bitcoin being a uniting factor; posts pertaining to certain topics (anything not is posted on the "meta" sub) stays within those subs that fit the post's discussed topic.
Nostr (for most that are newly onboarded) is more like Xitter or the fediverse, in that you have to follow those you find interesting if you'd rather not have a global feed barrage be your window into what Nostr is all about. By design you can do more with Nostr than make it yet another social networking protocol, but most are going to use it as such; the cooler aspects of it, such as Habla for blogging and Zap.stream for (duh) streaming are likely going to be secondary to those used to having different accounts for different social media purposes.
Someone like nostr:npub1vm2yasykvnuu3uhu6w45wnwd6p3lyv2q3kn6k3j98jptg0dxl76q8xuh2l would prefer if Nostr was like SN.
