Back from Oslo. Almost no sleep. Got up early and wrote a couple hundred words (low quality, but something), got the kids off to school, scythed the lawn, did a mace/ kettlebell workout outside in the back alley, played 10 minutes of Bach and now back to writing. NOSTR life off to a promising start.

I can’t say I am great at it, and right now the scythe has a handle issue. Blisters today! But I still enjoy it. Have been scything for a few years now and also using my reel mower. Tell me about your experience.
I love the tool, it's meditation in motion as I like to say. There's some pretty niche groups I found through Facebook several years ago. One of the admins runs a scythe outfitting e-commerce store. I got into it when I worked on a couple of farms, it's great for tight areas around your property, or you can mow in the mornings without waking your neighbors. This books got everything you might need to know about mowing with the scythe. He gets into the history of the tool as well.
