Utility-wise and even learning environment wise, 90s America was by and large PEAK civilization for most. I truly belong there. I was fortunate enough to be born then and grow up in it.
The decay and rot of democratic statism was real though, and permeated many subcultures and neighborhoods. Hence gangsta rap and the difficulties of the entrepreneurial efforts of the artists who created it, under risk of harassment from the state and from the abundance of everyday criminals and expropriators.
