You sound like you've never run a Lightning node yourself. You should try it.
Discussion
You sound like the 1% of nerds I am describing.
I am nerd as well. But none of the 100 people I introduced to Bitcoin since 2012 runs their own node, not to speak about Lightning. They got lucky, I'd say. Many got rich.
But they don't care about the infrastructure. It's where Bitcoiners like me failed. We sold a get rich quick scheme hoping that people get interested and incentivised by the wealth they acquired. But that is not the case for most people. Fiat mindset is still in control. They lack technical skills. They don't know why privacy is more important than their NGU portfolio.
All that results in custodial, centralised solutions by state licensed and controlled corporations that offer zero privacy. Portfolios will be taxed at will.
Bitcoin is captured like never before and unfortunately it will only get worse. Things will only improve if we come to our senses again and acknowledged that we failed to become freedom money.
Which implementation is easier?
