Want to get myself a soldering iron, what should I go for? What do I look for in a good soldering iron?
I'd recommend getting a complete SMD rework station for maximum versatility. Power control is important.

Do you have any good stations in mind?
I am not experienced enough to know what makes for a good one, but I was given a Yihua 853d and it gets the job done. I've used it mostly for desoldering along with a pump and wick. I like that it has power aux out option.
