If you want to understand why half the country is on Adderall, it’s so the pharmaceutical companies can get rich giving losers an excuse for not doing all the things they know they should have done/should be doing.
The DSM-5 is a jobs program for people who borrowed too much money for the wrong degrees and the pharmaceutical companies get their vig too. 
This is where the “ like” button isn’t quite right, but definitely worth an acknowledgment. I’ve come to appreciate Dr Gabor Mate’s point about how ADD/ADHD isn’t a disorder but more of a coping response to the toxic environment people are in that for whatever reason, they cannot escape. The System doesn’t benefit from people understanding that since it empowers us to fix ourselves and not be their cash cows for life.
