IMO this is as close as it gets to a perfect film.

Hits on all counts: thematic poignance perfectly executed (I dare you not to tear up near the end), wonderful characters and relationships, a killer soundtrack, and tongue-in-cheek humour that isn't quippy (at least in the Marvel-esque fashion that undermines the catharsis of the story).
