Very nice

Is that in the south east of the US?

Keeping the forests healthy. Love yo see it. Keep an eye out for quail the next few days

That would be so nice. I occasionally hear whippoorwill at certain times but never see them, or any signs of a covey. Apparently the ants (here in our segment of the state )will compromise quail in some way. Most quail hunters (like my father 40 years ago) hunted on special preserves in the middle and north of the state that were particularly groomed, protected, and planted to cultivate quail (as they are quite vulnerable).

Ive got a lot of chuck wills widows my way. Dead middle of my house and i can hear em at night from half mile away.

Never heard of this beautiful bird. #WhyINostr

Audubon website is cool to hear bird calls also. Scroll around.

There are some great sites that helped us identify a panther call near our property about 15 years ago. It was about 10 PM and my dog and I were having a late stroll on a nice early fall night. As we silently made our way we heard a blood-curdling wail similar to a girl weeping inconsolably ,with a guttural growl. We stopped dead in our tracks, nailed to the spot. The short fur on my boxer’s spine was at attention. We were both shook. Once I got settled, I found a site that had animal calls in audio to match pix. No mistaking.

Thats amazing, less than 200 left i believe.

This is a leopard emoji but you get me. Guess panther emojis are extinct already.

Starting new thread butmany states coukd follow FLs example of forestry. Control burns and yet not a lot of forest fires because they thin out the brush and get all that tinder cleaned out. CA went too far with protect the trees and now a giant matchbox. Protrect doesnt mean leave alone, thats not management its neglect

#forestry

Wow!

They need fire as much as rain!
