L-BTC is great when onchain are high. I use it with Aqua wallet f.e.
What are the benefits over lightning?
Its non-custodial but you dont have to deal with ln channels which is a pita. Still you can receive and make payments over lightning using nostr:npub1psm37hke2pmxzdzraqe3cjmqs28dv77da74pdx8mtn5a0vegtlas9q8970 integrated into the aqua wallet
That’s kinda cool. Might have to download aqua just to familiarize myself with Liquid.
